Doha Islamic finance forum names AlRayan firms as co-lead partners

Regulators, investors, financial institutions and industry practitioners will attend discussions on Islamic finance and Qatar’s development as a regional centre for the sector. The programme includes professionals from 17 organisations.
Participating organisations include the Qatar Financial Centre, S&P Dow Jones Indices, Alchemist Doha, Saturna Malaysia, Power International Holding, Standard Chartered Saadiq and Dhofar Islamic.
One roundtable will examine AlRayan Bank’s first green sukuk, a QR500 million issuance. Participants include AlRayan Investment acting chief executive Akber Khan and AlRayan Bank’s general manager for Group Treasury and Financial Institutions, Tahir Hayat Pirzada.
The discussion will cover the issuance, demand for sustainable Islamic finance products and the role of environmental, social and governance considerations in regional capital markets. Two further sessions will address Islamic banking, sukuk and asset management growth, alongside fintech, digital platforms and tokenisation.
