Pringles launches thicker Dippers range for US snack market
Pringles will introduce a thicker, wavier potato snack designed to hold dips, with three flavours scheduled to reach US retailers in September.
Pringles is launching a thicker and wavier potato snack designed specifically for dipping after consumers repeatedly complained that its standard crisps could break in heavier dips. Pringles Dippers will reach retailers across the United States in September.
The scoop-shaped product will be sold in original, french onion and bacon cheddar flavours. The company said the reinforced version retains the brand’s familiar curved form but is structurally sturdier and can handle both light coatings and heavier scoops.
Eileen Flaherty-Yao, senior director of Salty at Mars Snacking North America, said the product was created to address the frustration of a snack breaking during dipping. Pringles also said the snacks can be eaten directly from the can without dip.
The company is separately expanding its bowtie-shaped Pringles Mingles puffed-snack line with a Sweet & Salty flavour combining buttery sweetness with a salty finish. The two releases form part of a broader move into new shapes and flavour formats.
